It is important that all students get the opportunity to see Art in situ, appreciate work first hand and expand their cultural experiences. Art galleries may initially appear far removed and inaccessible but every aspect of these spaces are awe inspiring from the architecture of the building itself to the interactive installations and priceless works of Art.
The Art Department will keep an eye on exciting and relevant exhibitions that could enhance students learning journey and we aim to take each year group to either an exhibition or a venue where students can study first hand relevant subject matter.
At KS4, Art and Photography students will get the opportunity to do a walking tour of London, visit a gallery space to help students respond to the coursework brief and widen their ability to respond in a more mature and informed way.
KS4 students are also encouraged to view and use online virtual galleries and design spaces to further inspire their work and develop other independent interests.
